The message of peace naturally flows from Krystaal's own life experience. In 1989, their peaceful existence in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo) was disrupted by violence that caused them to flee the country and resulted in the deaths of many close relatives and friends, including their own parents. Their remarkable journey of healing over the years has included finding peace in the midst of the hopelessness in refugee camps and the public forgiveness of the very people who murdered their parents.
In an effort to take their message of peace back to their homeland, they are now in the process of holding concerts to raise funds for that purpose. Their desire is to return to Africa to hold rallies for peace and reconciliation.
“After forgiving the people who killed my father, my mother, and many more, personally I felt a relief, like the burden that we were carrying in our hearts was lifted and we felt peace” says Michel Lwamba, the oldest of the three brothers of Krystaal.
